Genesis (Program #52) – Witness Lee Documentary (1905-1997)

Witness Lee, a prolific Christian teacher and writer, rest from his earthly labor and went to be with the Lord he loved on June 9, 1997.   He was 91 years old.   Witness Lee was a close co-worker of Watchman Nee in China and brought his ministry to the United States in 1962.  For the next one half hour, we will feature excerpt of a three-part memorial which took place between July 3 and 9, 1997 in Orange County, California.  Part one of this memorial was attended by over 5,000 believers in Christ in 12 meetings over 6 days.  This gathering was a continuation of semi-annual Bible training initiated by Witness Lee over 20 years ago.  Ron Kangas of Living Stream Ministry opened the training to remember and memorialize the truth of Witness Lee’s ministry, has summarized in the last 11 points:

Have you ever felt unsatisfied, let down, even empty, after you got what you thought would make you happy?

You are not alone. This puzzling feeling has been known to strike the most accomplished and wealthy people as well as the less accomplished and less wealthy. In fact, King Solomon had it all—a kingdom, untold wealth, profound wisdom and knowledge—yet after pondering his life, he said that there was nothing new under the sun. Everything was vanity.

It is as if something compels us to find the elusive missing piece. We may pursue a successful career, meaningful relationships, material possessions, or even fun and entertainment. But nothing cures that mysterious empty feeling way down inside. Why do we feel this way?

The Bible shows us that God created man with three parts. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says: “May your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete”. It is clear that we are not just a physical body made up of atoms. We also have a soul to think, feel, and choose. Yet hidden deep inside of us is a third part: our spirit. From December 1 through 21, 2012, a special three-week prayer time for the churches will take place. We urge as many saints as possible to deliberately separate themselves unto the ministry of prayer during that period of time.

The unprecedented hunger of sinners and Christians who are responding to the high gospel of God’s salvation and the word of His truth, the rapidly declining situation of the world and of religion, the condition of lawlessness and apostasy on the earth, the fierce attack of the evil forces of Satan against the believers and the work of God, the desperate need of the churches to be built up to have the reality of the Body of Christ, and the undeniable signs of the consummation of the age and of the Lord’s imminent return to bring in the kingdom age all require particular prayer that is Satan-defeating, divine-will-fulfilling, and age-turning in power and impact.

Dear brothers and sisters and lovers of Christ, for the sake of God’s interests let us meet at the throne of God to pray in oneness and in harmony, and with faith, earnestness, and perseverance. Let us join one another in prayer to turn the age. Amen.

We thank the Lord for His Word and His faithfulness. We have now concluded the life study of both the Old Testament and the New Testament in the Bible. It has been three years since we first started the broadcast on this web site. It is our earnest desire that this open, interpreted Word would be available to all the seeking believers around the world, to know and experience the deeper truth in the Bible.

Revelation 22:21 says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.” Only the grace of the Lord Jesus can enable us to live and walk according to the visions and prophecies. The entire Bible closes with this grace, the grace that enables us to experience the all-inclusive Christ and participate in the Triune God that we may become His eternal corporate expression for the fulfillment of His eternal purpose, that He and we may enjoy absolute satisfaction and complete rest mutually for eternity. Amen.

My King will soon come back again, The sky be filled with Him; The universe to be redeemed Will see His light therein. The Lord will soon fulfill His plan, His footsteps now I hear; His glorious frame I faintly see Beginning to appear. I’m longing for His presence blest And dare not slothful be While waiting for my Lord’s return, His own dear self to see. With our last program of Song of Songs, we have now concluded all of our life study in the Old Testament. In Song of Songs, which is an extract of the whole Bible, the seeking believer, who typifies us as the seeking believers of Christ, prays to the Lord : “Draw me…” (v.2), “Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth” (v.4). This shows that we need to have a personal and affectionate relationship with our dear Lord Jesus. We should tell the Lord, “Lord, draw me to Yourself. Lord, kiss me with the kisses of Your mouth.” We need to tell the Lord every day, even right now, “Lord Jesus, I love You”.  This is to be in the divine romance.  May we all give ourselves to love the Lord.

How could a country girl like me Become Your match — Your bride to be? You’re holy and You are divine But I’m fallen and human. Without You, Lord, I have no chance To be like You in this romance. But You chose me ere the world began Nothing could change Your plan. This divine romance Is My heart’s deep plan. I became a lowly man To court My country girl. No man or angel ever knew This secret hidden deep in You That You desired to be one with man Before the world began. Though sin came in to ruin me Through Satan’s scheme and subtlety Nothing could break Your love for me To gain me totally.
