Nehemiah (Program #5) – The Leadership of Nehemiah for the Reconstitution of the Nation of God’s Elect
Nehemiah loved God and he loved God’s interest on earth concerning His economy. This interest included the good land, the temple and the city of Jerusalem all of which Nehemiah loved. Even though he was a common person, without a rank such as that of a king or of a captain in the army, he took care of God’s interest on the earth.

The books of Ezra and Nehemiah bear a strong intrinsic significance for the Lord’s recovery today. We should not think that the Old Testament is unrelated to us. The Bible is written in two sections – the Old Testament and the New Testament. The first section contains pictures while the second section contains the fulfillment of what is signified by the pictures. Without an intrinsic understanding of the Old Testament types, it is not easy to understand the fulfillment of God’s economy in the New Testament.

To come back to God we need to come back to His word. God’s word reconstitutes us. We all have our own kind of disposition and habitual behavior but God is able to reconstitute us through His word. That’s why we need to read the Bible. God’s word gradually changes our mind and our way of thinking.

Ezra and Nehemiah are unique Old Testament books that give us the story of the Lord’s recovery. These two recovery books of the Bible gives detail about the recovery of God’s people back to Jerusalem from their seventy year captivity in Babylon. Stay with us as we apply the principles from this Old Testament picture to our situation in the Lord’s recovery today.
God’s purpose is to build Himself a house and establish His kingdom on the earth. In the Old Testament the recovery books of Ezra and Nehemiah, we see three sections of God’s work. Firstly. related to the rebuilding of the temple under Zerubbabel and then the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem under the leadership of Ezra and Nehemiah.
