Romans (Program #15) - The Freedom of the Spirit in Our spirit (1)

When we come to Romans chapter eight, we have to say “Hallelujah!” because here, Romans 8 is not a refrigerator, but a dining table and the Lord is saying “Come and dine!”

We have come to one of the landmark chapters in the entire divine revelation today; that is Romans 8. You will not want to miss this life-study.

It’s no accident that Romans 8 follows Romans 7, both in the sequence of the Bible and more significantly in our experience. When you look at Romans 7, you say “Oh what a mess” because it just ends with a wretched man - “Wretched man! Who will deliver me from the body of this death?”  We just see a person who is doing his best to respond to God’s law.  more…

31 Mar 2009 Leviticus (Program #7)

Leviticus (Program #7) - The Burnt Offering Christ for God’s Satisfaction (5)

The types in Leviticus have just been marvelous concerning Christ as the reality of the offerings.  We will see more of Christ as the reality of the burnt offering. The striking thing about the burnt offering is that it was uniquely for God; whereas the other offerings there was a portion both for God and the priest.  This one is specially for God and His satisfaction and that represent Christ in His absoluteness. He is really the only one that is absolute for God.

It is marvelous to see that the Christ who lives in us is our burnt offering.  This offering was offered wholly up to God for His good pleasure and satisfaction. This indicates that Christ specially in His human living was absolute for God. He was God’s delight and He lived a life that was absolutely for God’s satisfaction…

29 Mar 2009 Romans (Program #13)

Romans (Program #13) - The Bondage of the Law in Our Flesh (1)

Today we come to the wonderful truth in Romans chapter 7. Though a little difficult to understand, if any Christian sees the truth in this chapter, his Christian life will be liberated and revolutionized and he will know the real way to experience Christ.

Today we are coming to one of the most critical and striking of all the messages in this life study of Romans.  We will be brought into a view today that will surprise and enlighten us very much.

Romans chapter 7 is a continuation of Paul’s explaining to the Romans how they can live in grace… Abraham was justified by faith, but then God expected him to enjoy grace to bring forth Isaac, and this Isaac is the experience of Christ. This is a continuation of explaining how you can practically experience living this kind of life and grace. And in particular, in this chapter, he stresses how we are free from the law…

Leviticus (Program #5) - The Burnt Offering - Christ for God’s Satisfaction (3)

The book of Leviticus is comprised of two main sections: the first ten chapters cover the offerings and the priesthood; chapters 11 to 27 cover the holy living of God’s holy people. Today, we’re covering the offerings which are the picture of Christ - the Lamb of God, the fulfillment of all the offerings. These pictures from the Old Testament are a great enlightenment and inspiration for us today.

1 Corinthians 14:26 says, “…Whenever you come together, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” The apostle Paul was saying that when believers come to the church meetings, they should have something of the Lord to share with others but what a contrast to the situation we see in church meetings today. more…

28 Mar 2009 Romans (Program #12)

Romans (Program #12) - Identification with Christ

In this life study of Romans, we see that all that we have in Adam. We also see all that we have in Christ. All we have in Adam is but sin and death; I in Christ inherit life and righteousness - what a debit in Adam, what a credit in Christ!

From time to time, the Bible gives us a heavenly accounting lesson. Today is one of those lessons from the book of Romans.

We have been seeing there is a major shift in Romans chapter 5. A shift from the realm of man’s doings and deeds to the man himself, his person.  Romans 5:12 is a very clear verse - “Therefore just as through one man sin entered into the world, and through sin, death; and thus death passed on to all men because all have sinned.”  This book marks a great turn in the book of Romans.  more…

28 Mar 2009 Leviticus (Program #4)

Leviticus(Program #4) - The Burnt Offering Christ for God’s Satisfaction (2)

Many Christians pass over the fine points in this book, but the Lord has revealed many details of our precious Christ in Leviticus.  Most believers in Christ today know that Christ is the Lamb of God but not many had heard the details of the sacrifice that’s offer to God as described in Leviticus chapters 1 through 7.  As we touch an unique picture of our experience of Christ as it’s revealed in the Old Testament sacrifices.

The book of Leviticus shows us the way God’s people were to worship Him and then as a result of their worship of God they live a holy life. So these things are portrayed in Leviticus.  According to Leviticus to worship God is not just to bow down and to recognizes how awesome and mighty God is. But to worship God is to contact God and to enjoy Christ together with God. This may be a different definition of worship than many Christians have heard but this is the real worship that’s revealed in the Bible more…

27 Mar 2009 Romans (Program #11)

Romans (Program #11) - The Gift in Christ Surpassing the Heritage in Adam

We praise the Lord for His redemption, that He redeemed us judicially, but there is much more. He wants to save us day-by-day in His life by the dispensing of His life into us. This is the much more Christian life.  Our salvation begins with God forgiving us of all of our sins, but His full salvation includes much more than this. It includes His life freeing us from the power of sin.

This is a tremendous life-study because we move into a significant new section of Romans.  So far, we’ve seen God’s condemnation and His justification. The first few chapters of Romans unveil God’s condemnation on mankind generally, then on the self-righteous particularly, then we see His condemnation on the religious specifically, and finally on all the world totally. more…

27 Mar 2009 Leviticus (Program #3)

Leviticus (Program #3) - The Burnt Offering - Christ for God’s Satisfaction (1)

“…Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” This popular verse from Hebrews chapter 10 is commonly used but seldom understood in its real context - and that is of Christ replacing the Old Testament offerings. Stay with us today as we once again look at the picture of Christ as the Lamb of God in our life study of Leviticus.

The last 2 programs really were both introductions: firstly, to the book of Leviticus and then to the five major offerings which typify Christ in this book. We’re going to touch these offerings.  The focus today will be on the burnt offering.

At the end of the book of Exodus, we do see that the tabernacle is built. But now in Leviticus we see not only that the tabernacle is built but the living God is living in that tabernacle. And, He has provided the offerings for us, as His believers, to enter into the tabernacle - to have fellowship with Him, to contact Him, to enjoy Him and eventually, we see through typology, that it all leads to Christ and the experience of Christ…
