Philippians (Program #35) - Living Christ by Receiving the Word Through the Spirit

Do you ever wonder how the Christian life can be more practical to you or how you can experience the rich Christ that you heard spoken of.

We are touching the things that are most burdened with. To review some of the key verses and in this comparison we have been looking at the two verses, Philippians 1:19-20 “For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.” And the comparison we are going to see 2:12 and16.  Verse 12 “So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; and verse 16, “Holding forth the word of life, so that I may have a boast in the day of Christ that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.”

30 Jun 2009 Exodus (Program #58)

Exodus (Program#58) - The Function of God’s Word as His Living Word to His Loving Seekers

Have you ever wondered why to some people the Bible can be full of sweetness and satisfaction, even encouragement; while to others it can be quite the opposite - it may seem harsh, demanding or may be just boring. Even within a single person, it may be one moment the former and in another moment the latter. What changes?  Well, God’s word is eternally the same and it is His very breath. Whether we experience it as life or death altogether depends on us. If you’ve ever struggled to enter into the richness and sweetness of God’s word, please don’t miss this classical presentation on today’s life study of the Bible.

All believers have struggled with this matter at one time or another in their Christian life. Maybe the Bible was very living, very sweet when we first got saved. But then something seems to change and we can’t seem to get the same burst of spiritual energy or nourishment from simply reading and studying. This is probably very common for most believers. It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s not supposed to be this way. more…

Philippians (Program #34) - To Live Christ by the Spirit

If you were asked what’s the goal of the Christian life, how would you respond? How would most people respond?  A likely answer might be the goal of the Christian life is to go to heaven. This might be the most frequent answer to this question. But it is not an answer that the Bible supports. Philippians gives us some help in answering this question. Paul says, “For me to live is Christ.”  We will explore this marvelous quotation from Philippians chapter 1.

Paul’s intense focus on Christ. Paul did not speak of going to heaven, he spoke of living Christ…

29 Jun 2009 Exodus (Program #57)

Exodus (Program #57) - How the Old Testament Seekers of God Enjoyed His Law (2)

On the mountain of God in the wilderness between Egypt and Canaan, God gave the commandments to His people.  Yet if we would look at how the Lord give the law to His people, we would see the law came with God’s presence.  If we can come to His presence whenever we come to the Word, the Bible will be a much different book to us.

Again we’re going to look at the law of commandments or the ten commandments that were delivered to the people in Exodus 19 and 20.  Usually these commandments are thought of in a heavy and burdensome way but today’s fellowship is going to bring our listeners into a much different appreciation of the commandments.

28 Jun 2009 Philippians (Program #33)

Philippians (Program #33) - The Bountiful Supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ for Magnifying Christ

In Genesis the first book in the Bible, the Spirit is simply called the Spirit of God.  By the time we come to the gospel this Spirit has become the Holy Spirit.  And in the Epistles the Spirit of Jesus Christ.  Would the Bible used such term lightly or without significance?  One thing we can say about the Bible, it is no way light or insignificant. This Spirit of Jesus Christ as Paul refers to it in Philippians becomes the bountiful supply of our daily even moment by moment salvation. Please do not miss today’s critically important life study of the Bible.

This message is really marvelous, I believe it can be instrumental in helping countless believers in their daily walk with the Lord. If we could really grasp what Paul was saying in these few verses in Philippians chapter 1, and we could apply them to our daily life.  I believe it will revolutionized our Christian experience. more…

28 Jun 2009 Exodus (Program #56)

Exodus (Program #56) - How the Old Testament Seekers of God Enjoyed His Law (1)

The law was given by God to His people in the book of Exodus but it became a dominant feature and theme throughout the entire Old Testament; the Psalmist touched in many places particularly Psalms 1:19 the longest of the Psalms and this is devoted entirely to the enjoyment of the law. Did you ever consider the law of God as the source of sweet and intimate fellowship with God full of enjoyment?  Stay with us for this marvelous life-study message.

This is the life-study of Exodus but we are going to spend the entire program today in the Psalms.  Mostly in Psalms 1:19 where the writer, the psalmist, speaks about the law but he does it almost as if the law were a person. It’s full of love and intimacy. I sense this is someone who is a real seeker. To get into the heart of this Psalms, we need the background of what we’ve seen in the past few programs.

27 Jun 2009 Philippians (Program #32)

Philippians (Program #32) - Grace, Salvation, the Spirit and Christ

Is grace just something you call amazing when you sing that famous song? Or do you experience grace to the extent that you called it my grace as apostle Paul did in Philippians 1:7.   Do you know really know what it means to magnify Christ in your daily life as Paul did in Philippians 1:20?   Or is Christ just a doctrine to you that never make it out of your Sunday morning service?   We hope you all are experiencing the marvelous, personal, saving Christ day by day in an intimate way, if you are, you will really enjoy today’s program because it is very much on this experiential side. If you are not we also like you to stay tune to be attracted to the deeper experience of Christ.

Four words that we want to look at today in Philippians 1, and these 4 words that Paul used in a very experiential way. These words particularly: grace, salvation, the Spirit and Christ.  Each of them points to a deeper experience and enjoyment of Christ.

27 Jun 2009 Exodus (Program #55)

Exodus (Program #55) - Keeping the Law of God by Loving Him and His Word and Becoming One with Him (2)

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals many deep and mysterious truths. Perhaps the greatest mystery is that it reveals two simple persons, one male and one female. And the romance that ensues between these two persons, it begins in the first pages of Genesis and continues throughout the entire Bible until it is ultimately consummated in the closing passages of Revelation. Have you ever seen the divine romance?

This message is full of vision, and depth, and unveils God’s eternal purpose; and that He has been propelled by His love for man, and He desires above all to enjoy man as His loving counterpart for eternity. This is quite a view of the Bible; a different view that is commonly spoken of and experienced by believers today. To see this kind of love relationship is really a hidden part in the Word of God.

26 Jun 2009 Philippians (Program #31)

Philippians (Program #31) - Paul’s Greeting and Blessing

When you hear a word about offering a gift to the Lord are you full of joy and enlivened by the thought or you have the feeling similar to that of getting a tooth pulled?   We are going to talk about the matter of giving today but in a way that is much different that is how it is normally been presented in Christian circles.  But it is the way that the apostle Paul talks about it in Philippians chapter 4, an enlightening subject that the Body of Christ needs a good deal of enlightenment.

Giving and receiving in chapter 4, it is sad that such a precious and important matter among God’s people have been so spoiled and damaged today.  To many this matter of giving has become a deadening experience. But on today’s program we can say this is something full of life. The word, the term Paul used to see how this matter is really related to life.

26 Jun 2009 Exodus (Program #54)

Exodus (Program #54) - Keeping the Law of God by Loving Him and His Word and Becoming One with Him (1)

We’re all familiar with the vows that are an important part of every wedding. Taken out of the context of the wedding, however, these vows can sound very much like restrictions, demands, or even laws. But in the context of the wedding, they become much less burdensome, and in fact are a testimony of absolute love and life long commitment. Have you ever viewed the laws and commandments given by God in this light?

It is revolutionary from the standpoint that it is not what many people understand when you say the giving of the law. Depending whether you’re Jewish or Christian, they could have different thoughts. But it centers around a pretty legal, judicial kind of understanding of God and of His demand upon man.
