1 Corinthians (Program #4) – Christ and His Cross the Unique Solution (1 & 2)

The Bible reveals that all believers have been called by God. If we were not for this calling we were never be saved. Salvation is not something we can stumbled into on our own

But what we have been called into? 1 Corinthians chapter 1 tells us  “God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Our calling is into the fellowship of His Son. But 1 Corinthians also tells us that the greatest frustration to that fellowship is division. Division became the problem in the 1st century church. And look today how great this problem is to the fellowship that should be our day by day enjoyment and experience. A fellowship that is in Christ and that should be universal among all the members of His one Body. The fellowship of His Son is our topic today.

Exodus (Program #11) – The Purpose of God’s Calling

The story of Moses is really the story of God’s calling.  Moses was surely called by God.  The account of this calling is both riveting and captivating.  How we admire a man like Moses so useful to God for His purpose.  But what about us?  Is God also calling us?  And if so, what is the purpose?  Stay with us today, and you might be surprised to find out that God is calling us and calling us for the very same purpose He called Moses.

Exodus (Program #9) – The Male Help and the Female Help to the Called One

God’s people were in a desperate condition and their cries reached the ears of God, who fully desired to save them.  But He first needed to complete the preparation of His called one Moses before moving for the accomplishment of His purpose.  What was the preparation that such great and mighty man of God needed before God could use him?  Stay with us as we look at God’s preparation of Moses on today’s life study of the Bible.

We are going to look at Moses again today in a couple aspects.  He had a definite and complete calling by God.  But also in the account of these early chapters in Exodus, we can see that God had to fully prepare him before He could call and use him.  A lot of the stories and events that are in Exodus that have become famous Bible stories are really part of that preparation…

Exodus (Program #6) – God’s Calling of the Prepared One (2)

At the age of 40 when he was just in his prime, God called Moses.  But God did not employ him in that calling for another 40 years.  By now Moses is an old man, drained of both his strength of body as well as strength of soul.  Yet this was the time God could use him for His purpose.  God’s preparation of Moses, the one sent by God to deliver His people is one of the most revealing and illuminating stories in the Bible because it fully applies to us.

Firstly we are going to see the purpose of God’s calling.  In another words,  God has called each of us as believers in Christ, but what is the purpose of that calling?   Then number 2, we want to see how God prepares us to be His called ones, and to be His sent ones to accomplish His purpose.  This is seen in the way God called Moses and the way God prepared Moses to be His sent one.  Again this would be very applicable to us in our Christian life.
