1 John (Program #33) – The Virtues of the Divine Birth to Overcome the World, Death, Sin, the Devil, and the Idols (1)

1 John, a book that stresses divine eternal life, reveals that prayer is crucial in maintaining the fellowship of the divine life.  In chapter 5 it particularly shows us that as members of the Body, we need to pray for the other members.  No doubt it’s common practice among believers to pray for healing for someone in the church who may be sick or for financial blessing for those who may be suffering material shortage.  But do we pray as the apostle John instructs us for the Lord to supply the weaken members with life?  Listen to chapter 5:16 “If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask and he will give life to him, to those sinning not unto death…

1 & 2 Kings (Program #14) – The Reign of Jehoahaz, Jehoash, and Jeroboam over Israel

In reading the Old Testament it’s easy to become lost at times in page after page of history because much of the Old Testament is devoted to telling this history, the history of God’s people Israel in both their triumphs and in their many failures.  To study it in this way does have some values, but if that is the extend of our realization of the Old Testament, we will miss a lot.  In fact, we will miss the Lord’s burden for us in that portion of Scriptures.  For both the Lord Jesus Himself in His direct speaking concerning the Old Testament and the apostle Paul in example after example of how he applied the Old Testament made it clear that in reality the Old Testament is a book of types and symbols that if properly understood reveal Christ to us in marvelously clear pictures that can often convey more of the spiritual reality than even the direct and condensed passage of the New Testament.  One of the great types of Christ in the books of history surely is the prophet Elisha, who typified Christ in his living, his ministry and as we will see today even in his death.

Leviticus (Program #30) – The Cleansing of the Leper (1) & (2)

The clear and proper understanding of Old Testament books such as Leviticus shows us pictures that portray graphically and vividly man’s true condition contaminated by sin and death.  Unclean from natural birth and leprous within and without.  This is surely man’s condition apart from God’s intervention but motivated by His great love and desire for man to be His eventual eternal counterpart. God does not leave us in such a condition.

Leviticus (Program #27) – Abstaining from Death

Leviticus chapter 11 is concerned with the matter of diet, the matter of eating.  But this chapter also is very much concerned with death.  The word “carcass” is used at least 13 times in this chapter.  The fact that this chapter speaks of eating in relation to the death that results from contacting something unclean means that Leviticus chapter 11 is very much like the whole Bible is a book of life and death.

Exodus (Program #155) – The Ingredients of the Compound Spirit – Death, Resurrection, Mingling of Divinity and Humanity

What is the single greatest teaching in the Bible?  Well that may be an impossible question to answer.  But as God’s people who love His word It is worth contemplating.  One matter that at least deserve to be considered is the revelation in Scripture that our God, the God of the Bible both Old and New Testaments is Triune; one yet three, an indescribable mystery. Yet what can be grasped by all His children is that the marvelous three-one God is Triune for man to experience Him, even live by Him.

Colossians (Program #33) – The Extensive Revelation of the All-Inclusive Christ

Our Christ is not narrow or limited. He’s all inclusive, and He’s extensive. Do you realize that He’s a universal traveler? Well in incarnation, He traveled from the heavens to the earth. In death and resurrection, He traveled from the earth into hades and then back to earth again. And then in ascension, He traveled back into the heavens only to be poured out once more to the earth to be our everything as the life-giving Spirit. This is our Christ. And, as the result of all this universal traveling, He fills all in all and wants to impress us that He alone can replace everything that occupies us, even our culture.

Ephesians (Program #61) – Ordinances and Doctrines

The cross of Christ which is the very foundation of salvation for a believer. Represents the termination of so many negative things like sin and death, the flesh, the old nature or old man, even Satan and the world.

Christians love to hear messages on these things. But have you ever listen a message about the ordinances been included in what is slain on the cross? Well, here is the message for you, in Ephesians 2:14-15, “For He Himself is our peace, He who has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of partition, the enmity, abolishing in His flesh the law of the commandments in ordinances, that He might create the two in Himself into one new man, so making peace.

Ephesians (Program #37) – The Gifts Perfecting the Saints

There is a wonderful passage in the 68th Psalms that says : when Christ ascended to the Father after His resurrection, He took with Him an offering of all the redeemed sinners, those that had previously been held captives to sins, Satan even death. These redeemed ones were His offering to the Father

Listen to Psalms 68:18 “You have ascended on high; You have led captive those taken captive; You have received gifts among men, Even the rebellious ones also, That Jehovah God may dwell among them.”

The apostle Paul quoted from this verse in Ephesians 4, but he adds to it, making clear that the Son has now given these ones back to the Body, the Church, even to mankind as gifts.  The gifts that Christ had given to His Body that is our topic today.

Ephesians (Program #10) – To Head Up All Things in Christ (2)

The notion or idea of an eternal struggle in the universe is certainly not new or novel.  Most societies, even most religion makes reference to the struggle of good versus evil that is larger than our world.  But what the Bible actually reveals is that the struggle is not directly good versus evil; rather it is God versus His enemy, Satan – the source of all evil and the source of death.  Actually, if our eyes are open, we realize that God in His wisdom allowed this archangel to rebel.  With one possible reason being the  tremendous opportunity that afforded God to manifest His wisdom through the church by heading up all things in Christ.  This is the view in Ephesians.

Galatians (Program #33) – Born of the Spirit to Receive the Spirit (2)

At Christ’s death on the cross, we were redeemed. We might think that the purpose of redemption is so that we could be saved and go to heaven. But, Galatians 4:5 says that God has redeemed us so that we might receive the Sonship. To receive Sonship means that we’re born of God and thereby receive the divine life and nature. Stay with us today as we focus not on our future in heaven, but on how to live and walk in Spirit as the very sons of God.
