1 Corinthians (Program #25) – Building or Destroying the Temple of God

There are many sober warnings in the Bible. Most people associate these warnings with the paralle of facing eternity without Christ that is to be unsaved. Well this certainly is the focus of many of these warnings.  But we must be aware that several of the most serous warnings in the Bible are spoken to believers. Those who are already saved. Such a warning is found in 1 Corinthians  3:17 “If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for the temple of God is holy, and such are you.”

But what it is to destroy the temple? How could an unbeliever really damage God’s eternal building. No, it is the believers that are engaged everyday of their Christians life in building and building the temple. And it is the believers that have these words to sow into their heart.  We will look today what it is to damage to corrupt even to ruin God’s building on earth.

John (Program #50) – Life in Resurrection (1)

John 1:14 says, the Word became flesh. That means the Word, who was God, became something that He previous was not. When God came out of eternity into time to accomplish His plan, He became flesh. In this sense, God did change.

When we cover these two aspects (God being unchanging and God having changed), what we’re touching is the mystery of the Divine Trinity. So, what we need to do is look at the entire Bible and just say Amen to whatever the Bible says about the Triune God. On the one hand, you know people uses this verse Malachi 3:6, which says that God changes not. And, this is true. But of course, if you look at the context of Malachi 3:6, it’s talking about that God changes not in his principles, in the way that He deals with His people. But also, we know that the Bible shows that God in His eternal being is unchanging. The Bible reveals that the Triune God, the three of the Godhead. On the one hand, they are distinct. The Father, the Son, and the Spirit are eternally distinct, but they also co-inhere. That means that they mutually indwell one another. The Father is in the Son. The Son is in the Father. John (Program #15) – The Need of the Moral People – Life’s Regenerating (2)

Today, when we would repent and lift up our heart and look at the very Jesus crucified on the cross, what would happen to us? I tell you, sin would be removed and the serpentine nature would be dealt with. And, Satan would be destroyed, and we will have life eternity.

Regardless how cold you are or how bad you are, as long as you are a human being, you need to be terminated. And, you need to be germinated. Germinated with what? Germinated with the divine life. You need another life. To get another life, you need another birth.

John (Program #12) – Life’s Principle

One day your human life will run out, and the enjoyment will be over.

Chapter one gives us an introduction to the whole book. And, we have seen the introduction starts from eternity past and ends with eternity future. And in between, as we have seen, there is the bridge of time on which 5 main events transpire to accomplish God’s eternal purpose. We have seen this clearly. Now by the way, I must point out to you that John tells us that the Lord Jesus did lots of things. Thousands of things. But out of the thousand cases, John, the writer, only selected not more than 12 events. From chapter three through chapter eleven, it is so clear that there are 9 cases. From Nicodemus to the resurrection of Lazarus. Altogether 9 cases, plus 1 in chapter two. The changing of water into wine…

John (Program #11) – An Introduction to Life and Building (7)

God drove His economical car from the first section of eternity through the time bridge to the last section of eternity. By driving through the bridge, He got everything finished.

We still have another message for chapter 1. This message in a sense is a kind review of what we have seen already. But, some different aspects are shown up in this message. Chapter 1 reveals to us two sections of eternity. In the beginning was the Word. That was the eternity in the past. At the end of this chapter, the Lord says, “you will see the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man”, and that we all know will happen in eternity future. In eternity past, Christ was merely the Word, and the Word was God. And, God by that time had only divinity, nothing human. By that time He didn’t have the humanity what He had was just divinity.  But in eternity future, His main aspect will be, not the Son of God, but the Son of Man. If He’s not the son of God, He could never be life to us. If He is not the Son of Man, He could never be the essence for the building of God. For life to us, He has to be the Son of God. For the building of God, Christ has to be the Son of Man. The Son of God is for life and the Son of Man is for building…

Mark (Program #59) – A Life Fully According To and For God’s New Testament Economy (19)

During the last few months we have been given a memorable and wonderfully clear picture of “A Life Fully According To and For God’s New Testament Economy” as it is portrayed through the gospel of Mark.

This life embodied in our precious Lord Jesus in the gospels is developed through out the entire New Testament, ultimately a peak is reached in the book of Revelation, as we see the final consummation of God’s economy in the New Jerusalem. That final consummation is no longer just a picture of God or Christ alone, but we also as His redeemed and regenerated people are included. What a transformation from our pitiful fallen condition at the time we first received His saving grace to the glorious outcome that awaits all of us to participate in for eternity.

Jeremiah (Program #12) – God’s Economy with His Dispensing in Jeremiah (1)

The Bible consummates with the revelation of the city of New Jerusalem. This indicates that the New Jerusalem is God’s goal. In fact every book in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is in some way related to the New Jerusalem as God’s goal. And as the ultimate goal of His plan and purpose with man, the New Jerusalem is just too wonderful for us to imagine. So God reveals this matter bit by bit. First by the Bible’s own words and then the stories, types, history, shadows and figures make it more and more clear to us. The Old Testament of Jeremiah is rich in the aspect of God’s economy that are revealed throughout. In Jeremiah, God’s goal of having a group of human beings that have been filled with Him and that bear His image and likeness to become His corporate expression for eternity is very much on display. And this vision unlocks all the riches and treasures in this book.

Psalms (Program #4) – Christ in God’s Economy versus the Law in Man’s Appreciation (3)

In our natural common mentality, the law of God easily assumes a preeminent position.  We can relate to the notion of keeping a high moral standard of conduct.  And surely this seems in line with what must be God’s plan and desire for mankind.  After all God Himself gave the commandments to Moses to pass on to His people, the children of Israel.  But there is a fundamental problem; when we afford the law the central position in our relationship to God and that is although it is good and righteous and holy, the law is powerless and must rely on man’s fallen flesh to carry it out.  Try as we may and regardless of how much desperate prayer expressing our earnest desire to carry it out we add to it,  the result is inevitable, an utter failure, leaving us defeated and condemned and spiritually dead.  Oh that our eyes would be open to see that this righteous law that so vividly portraits God’s holy nature has never occupied the central place in His plan.  For that place throughout eternity is reserved unchangingly for the Christ of God alone.
