Acts (Program #32) – The Propagation in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria through the Ministry of Peter’s Company (24)

As Christians today, we likely take it for granted that anyone, despite their background or race, can freely take the salvation afforded by the grace of God through Jesus Christ. But, it wasn’t always that way. The opening of the door of the gospel to the Gentiles or non-Jewish world was a significant and difficult transition in God’s move on the earth. We will consider this key turning point in God’s move on today’s life study of the Bible.

When was Christ crucified for us? Of course we know that He died on the cross about 2000 years ago. But, how then do we understand Revelation 13:8 that says, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Within this apparent paradox lies a marvelous realization that will greatly benefit how we approach many aspects of our Christian life.

Acts (Program #30) – The Propagation in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria through the Ministry of Peter’s Company (22)

In Acts 1:5, the Lord told the disciples that they would experience a baptism of the Holy Spirit. This event, occurring exactly 2 times in the New Testament, has been debated, analyzed, promoted, and profoundly misunderstood.  Was it intended only for the ancient disciples? Is it a special experience supplemental to our initial salvation intended for us? Or is it a matter of importance on a scale much larger than just our own personal experience? We will get a very penetrating look today on the life study of the Bible.

The Apostle Peter was entrusted with the responsibility of ushering both the Jewish and later the Gentile believers of Christ into the Kingdom of God. As a result of these two distinct events, the door into the Kingdom and eternal life is fully open for all who would believe and enter in. We will look at the second of these doors being open on today’s life study of the Bible.

Acts (Program #26) – The Conversion of Saul (2)

One of the classic lines of New Testament scripture is when Paul, anticipating martyrdom, declares, “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision”. And, surely he did remain faithful to the vision. But, when did he receive this heavenly vision? And, can we enter into the same vision?

Acts (Program #25) – The Conversion of Saul (1)

One of the many magnificent stories recorded in the passages of the New Testament is the account of the conversion of the fierce persecutor of the church, Saul of Tarsus. The real Gospel preaching is preaching from the Word of God with Christ, His person and His work as the center, and always paying attention to the leading of the Spirit by remaining in fellowship with Him moment by moment.

The book of Acts relates many marvelous stories of the experiences of the first-century believers. These stories can entertain but more important, they are a pattern, an example to us that we see from the church life as the Lord initiated it on the earth. One such story is that of the Ethiopian eunuch, and how Philip happened upon him and lead him to a full and meaningful salvation. We will pick up that story and all its meanings for us on today’s life study of the Bible.

Acts (Program #23) – The Propagation in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria through the Ministry of Peter’s Company (18)

The early Church life of the saints in first-century Jerusalem was typified by extremes in their environment. On the one hand, the Lord was moving mightily among them and their enjoyment of Christ was nearly boundless. But outwardly, their environment was harsh due to the oppression and persecution by the religious and political leaders. This persecution resulted in the eventual scattering of believers away from Jerusalem. But, this scattering was used by God to spread the Gospel into new regions. Stay with us for another remarkable exploration of the book of Acts on today’s life study of the Bible.
