The final two chapters of the Bible reveal the final destination for both God and man. Not heavenly mansions, but the living, built up city composed of God and His redeemed people. Isaiah (Program #1) – An Introductory Word

A well-known verse from Isaiah chapter 9 says “For a child is born to us, A son is given to us; And the government Is upon His shoulder; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”  These beautiful words of poetry and prophecy were spoken hundreds of years before the One to whom they so clearly pointed would come.  But a more clear and unmistakable portrait of our Savior Christ  cannot be found anywhere in Scripture.  These are the words of the Old Testament prophet Isaiah.  His book of poetry and prophecy stands as one of the most magnificent in the entire Bible.

The full experience of the believer is shown in the four stages in the book of Song of Songs beginning with pursuing Him, then experiencing the cross and dying to the self, followed by living in ascension and becoming a new creation, and finally responding to the highest call to Christian life – to pass through the veil of the flesh, to dwell in God Himself and allow Him to dwell in us. If we have a clear view of these four stages, we will not only fully understand this book, but we will have priceless understanding that will sustain us through our whole Christian life.

Revelation (Program #61) – The New Jerusalem (3)

Revelation, the final book of the Bible, opens many things to us in its 22 chapters. But the key to unlocking these revelations is to realize that primarily, this is a book of signs and symbols. The final sign, that of a city called New Jerusalem reveals God’s ultimate intention and our ultimate destiny. To see this, however, requires not just our natural understanding. Rev 21:10 says, “And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.” If we can be in spirit as John was, and in a sense, be carried away to a high mountain by the Lord’s mercy, we can see this city as well.
