On one hand, whether or not we believe in Christ is purely our own decision, we may choose to believe and to receive Him as our Savior. Or, we can elect to reject Him and pay no attention to Him in any meaningful way. Our will is free, and God will respect it either way. But on the other hand, all who have come to a real and genuine faith in the wonderful Christ realize that God was very active in our environment leading up to the moment of our choosing Him. In once sense we had no choice, we were trapped by the faithful God.  Measure your own experience with us today as we come again to the book of Acts and the life study of the Bible.

Acts (Program #17) – The Propagation in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria through the Ministry of Peter’s Company (12)

Peter’s life and work made the divine life so real and present in his situation that even the angels saw it and pointed it out. He said, “Peter, Go, Stand, and speak all the words of this life.”

Acts chapter 5 verse 14 says, “believers were all the more being added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women”. Because of this, the high priest and all those with him rose up and were filled with jealousy. And they laid their hands on the apostles and put them in public custody.  A genuine move of the Lord through His Spirit. And the jealous reaction of the religious establishment. We will see the results on today’s life study of the Bible.

Early in Acts chapter 3, the apostle Peter performed one of the great miracles of the New Testament, healing a man lame from his mother’s womb. This mighty deed drew the attention of a sizable crowd, and Peter seized the opportunity to preach. But, it is interesting to note that he did not preach a sermon about divine healing. Rather, he preached Christ, and Christ alone. His focus was not the healing, but the healer. And that will be our focus as well today on this life study of the Bible.
