2 Corinthians (Program #8) – The Ministers of the New Covenant (1)

All believers have their favorite verses, verses that just seem to minister particularly to us in our situation. But one verse that deserves to be on every list is 2 Corinthians 3:18, listen to the apostle Paul in this marvelous verse,

18 “But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.

Why is this verse so particularly important? Because it brings us face to face with the Lord Jesus in an intimate and personal way. But also in a way where by we are infused, transfused even transformed by Christ Himself as the very life giving Spirit.

2 Corinthians (Program #3) -Introduction (3)

The apostle Paul after his strong rebuke and dealing with the Corinthians in his first letter had good reason to visit the city at his first opportunity. It would had given him the chance to answer first hand any misunderstandings and to sue any lingering stinging from his rebuke.

In the realms of public relations or human wisdom he surely would had taken this way. But Paul’s living was not directed by such things as “PR” in human wisdom. And though he was criticized by some of the Corinthians for delaying his coming after he told them of his desire to come.  We see the real reason for his delay. The reason was the Lord Jesus Himself. And Paul’s first concern which was not to live just a Godly life, but to live Christ, to live in perfect oneness with Him. This is the pattern that Paul had become not just to the Corinthians but to all of us.

04 Nov 2010 Divine Romance

With our last program of Song of Songs, we have now concluded all of our life study in the Old Testament. In Song of Songs, which is an extract of the whole Bible, the seeking believer, who typifies us as the seeking believers of Christ, prays to the Lord : “Draw me…” (v.2), “Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth” (v.4). This shows that we need to have a personal and affectionate relationship with our dear Lord Jesus. We should tell the Lord, “Lord, draw me to Yourself. Lord, kiss me with the kisses of Your mouth.” We need to tell the Lord every day, even right now, “Lord Jesus, I love You”.  This is to be in the divine romance.  May we all give ourselves to love the Lord.

  1. How could a country girl like me
    Become Your match — Your bride to be?
    You’re holy and You are divine
    But I’m fallen and human.
    Without You, Lord, I have no chance
    To be like You in this romance.
    But You chose me ere the world began
    Nothing could change Your plan.

    This divine romance
    Is My heart’s deep plan.
    I became a lowly man
    To court My country girl.
    Nothing could deter,
    Nothing can alter
    My eternal love for her;
    I’ll gain My country girl.

  2. No man or angel ever knew
    This secret hidden deep in You
    That You desired to be one with man
    Before the world began.
    Though sin came in to ruin me
    Through Satan’s scheme and subtlety
    Nothing could break Your love for me
    To gain me totally.

    This divine romance
    Is My heart’s deep plan,
    I became a lowly man
    To court My country girl.
    Nothing could deter,
    Nothing can alter
    My eternal love for her;
    I’ll gain My country girl.

  1. As King of kings You became a man,
    You died for me—I’ve been redeemed,
    In resurrection made us queen
    To marry You, my King.
    From death You ‘rose and entered me,
    I now possess Your divinity;
    In life and nature we’re the same:
    Both human and divine.

    In Your love I’m drawn,
    To You I belong;
    I am not my own, Lord,
    I’m Yours alone.
    By Your love I’m drawn,
    In Your name I’m charmed,
    And Your Person captured me,
    For I’ve been kissed by Thee.

  2. Lord, in this close sweet fellowship,
    Lord, be with me so intimate,
    So personal and affectionate;
    A sweet relationship.
    Lord, daily change my inward being
    Lord, all my heart possessing
    In all my being—transforming
    To be Your bride and queen.

    In Your love I’m drawn,
    To You I belong;
    I am not my own, Lord,
    I’m Yours alone.
    By Your love I’m drawn,
    In Your name I’m charmed,
    And Your Person captured me,
    For I’ve been kissed by Thee.
