1 Timothy (Program #3) – Prayer to Carry Out God’s Desire for Man’s Salvation

The apostle Paul wrote the books of 1 & 2 Timothy during a period of decline and degradation among the Churches that have been under his ministry. In respond to this negative situation he first laid the foundation for good spiritual health by refocusing them on God’s economy. This is in 1 Timothy 1:4.

Then in Chapter 2 he exhorts Timothy, his faithful co-worker to take the lead in the most crucial area of all in dealing with degraded and trouble situations and that is in the matter of prayer.  Listen to 1 Timothy Chapter 2 : 1-3. “I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men; On behalf of kings and all who are in high position, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and gravity. Psalms (Program #41) – The Expressions of the Saints Before Jehovah in Different Directions and Final Prayers of David

As we had been carefully considering the book of Psalms for these past 40 programs it has become very clear that the Psalms are difficult to categorize.  Though they are all poetic, and most often lofty in their language. One of the most significant realizations that a human being can have is that the God of creation has come to visit mankind in the person of Jesus Christ.  This is the beginning of our salvation experience.  But it takes a further revelation to see that the traffic between God and man is not limited to this one-way traffic.  The divine traffic is our topic on today’s life study of the Bible.

Exodus (Program #144) – The Golden Incense Altar (5 & 6) Strange Fire, Natural Prayers

As Christians all of us have some realization of the need to pray.   Many sermons were given every Sunday encouraging God’s people to pray.  But sadly for too many, after a few short feeble pleads for God to give us this or that, we quickly tired and prayer is over.  There is another kind of prayer experience even a prayer life that God desires to bring His people into.  But not only does He desires us to be strengthened in our prayer life, He is actually is waiting for us to enter into this intercessory prayer before He will move on earth to accomplish divine purpose.  Don’t miss today’s life study of the Bible.
