Ezekiel (Program #21) – The Building at the Back, the Walls, the Incense Altar, the Holy Chambers, and the Boiling Places

Ezekiel, a book of visions, begins in chapter 1 with the vision of God’s glory. The final vision in chapter 40 is a vision of the house of God or the building of God. Hopefully, we like Ezekiel, have seen both of these great visions in our life – a vision of God’s glory and a vision of His building. But the sad truth is that though Christians speak much concerning the glory of God, there are precious few words spoken concerning His building. Job (Program #13) – The Final Outcome, Under God’s Consummation

Job was a man fully absorbed in seeking to be upright, perfect and righteous before God. And without dispute, he had obtained much of what he sought after. Yet the book of Job reveals that God would never be satisfied by having His people obtain just a high and ethical condition such as Job’s. And so bit by bit Job was led progressively to lose all his natural attainments and with their loss also came the loss of his trust and reliance upon himself. Listen to Job 42:5-6, “I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye has seen You; Therefore I abhor myself, and I repent in dust and ashes.” Not until so much of his self has been stripped away did Job begin to gain something of God and to have God Himself added to his being. This is the ultimate revelation of the book of Job and the ultimate revelation of the entire Bible.

1 John (Program #3) – The Divine Life (1)

The apostle John was one of the primary contributors to the New Testament.   Of course, best known was his gospel which was rightly called the gospel of life.  But he also give us 3 epistles and a concluding word to the entire canon of scripture, the book of Revelation.  They all have their unique place and function in the Bible but they bear a common thread or emphasis and that is the divine life which is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  Listen to his marvelous opening to his first epistle, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life.”  Stay with us today as we enjoy this tasty appetizer and see how it typifies the focus and burden of all of John’s crucial writings.
