Exodus (Program #131) – The Sanctification of Aaron and His Sons to be the Priests (2) Sin Offering and the Way to Feast on Christ

Many items of the Old Testament are later associated with Christ in the New Testament.  Among the most frequently discussed items are the offerings that became part of the service in the tabernacle and later the temple.  What do these Old Testament animal offerings have to do with our Savior Christ and with our own experience of His divine life in us?

We are in the section of the life study of Exodus now that touches the offerings.  The offerings of the Old Testament have long been connected to, or associated with Christ.  The New Testament does make it clear that Christ on the cross was the real fulfillment of many of these offerings, like the sin offering and trespass offering that we will see today.

Leviticus (Program #21) – The Law of the Sin, Trespass, Peace Offerings

It’s not difficult for us to consider as law, the Ten Commandments given through Moses. However, we might find it hard to regard the law as something that concerns our enjoyment of Christ.  We may think that if there’s a law concerning the enjoyment of Christ, there could not be any enjoyment. Our eyes are about to be opened to realize that our enjoyment in experiencing Christ as life is regulated according to the law of life.

It helps to realize that we have five basic problems -we are not absolute for God, we never could be God’s testimony, what we are is just sin, what we do is nothing but commit sins and trespasses, what we never could have is peace with God.  Hallelujah for Christ! Leviticus (Program #16) -The Sin Offering Christ for the Sins of God’s People (2)

Leviticus 4:2 speaks of the sin of ignorance, whereas some version translated unintentional sin.  God’s remedy in the Old Testament was the sin offering. Today, we  commit sins unintentionally or inadvertently.  In fact often times the very thing that we determine not to do we end up doing and doing them repeatedly.  Why does this occur even to the most spiritually advanced?  Of course we know that in Christ we are forgiven but still the utter frustration and discouragement that we feel. How many times have we prayed “Lord how long will I continue to do this?”.  But we hope that our fellowship today will be a much practical help to all of God’s seekers as we look at the sin offering in Leviticus and also its New Testament application.

Leviticus(Program #4) – The Burnt Offering Christ for God’s Satisfaction (2)

The book of Leviticus shows us the way God’s people were to worship Him and then as a result of their worship of God they live a holy life. But to worship God is to contact God and to enjoy Christ together with God. Philippians (Program #14) – A Drink Offering Poured Out Upon the Sacrifice of the Believer’s Faith

Philippians 2:17 says “But if i am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and priestly service of your faith, I rejoice together with you all.” What is this drink offering that the apostle said he was poured out at?  If our experience of Christ has not come to the point where we have been constituted as a drink offering we have not yet experienced Christ to the uttermost. The drink offering is our topic today on this life study of the Bible from the book of Philippians.
