Genesis (Program #92) – Being Transformed (1)

Today we are coming back to the goal and the subject of the entire Bible.  There is a definite focus in this program, the life study of the Bible; to see that every portion of the Scriptures is consistent and always leading to one goal and one purpose.   This really is the Bible isn’t it?

Genesis (Program #88) – Being Dealt With (9)

We are very much absorbed these days in these life studies and experiences of Jacob.

As a background of Jacob’s life up to this point, you can look from two point of views.  One is what God was doing with Jacob and the other view is what Jacob was doing with God’s promises.   In the first place God chose Jacob and God gave him some promises even work out a lot of ways to deal with him and took him through a lot of experiences.  From God’s point of view, He was really working on Jacob to bring him to full transformed man.  These experiences we’ve had so far are part of the dealings that God had with Jacob.  But from Jacob’s side, when you look at it from his point of view, Jacob is always working things out according to his own view, according to his own standing…

Genesis (Program #87) – Being Dealt With (8)

Our story of Jacob, the picture of transformation continues today in Genesis 31.  With Jacob, this process seems to be life-long.  But I heard Christians say that transformation will take place in the twinkling of an eye at the Lord’s return.  Isn’t there a verse in the Bible that confirm this understanding?

Genesis (Program #80) – Being Dealt With (1)

We are going on today on Jacob’s full and very interesting life.   And I’d like draw attention again to the fact that the Bible affords nearly one half of the entire book of Genesis detailing Jacob’s dealings with God.

We pointed out in another occasion that Jacob’s experience signifies the believer’s experience of transformation.  I believe we will see more of this in this broadcast.   For the book of Genesis to devote so many chapters to Jacob, indicates at least two things…

Genesis (Program #17) – Transformation for Building in the Flow of Life (2)

Today’s message is a continuation of the last program, where Witness Lee began the discussion concerning transformation and he relate it to the consummation of the Bible, the New Jerusalem.

Many Christians don’t even know that the Bible covers the matter of transformation.  Their concept of transformation, many times is that is what’s going to happen when the Lord comes when we are resurrected or we are changed at the moment and the twinkling of an eye.  They call that transformation.  But that’s not what Witness Lee has been talking about and we will talk about it again today.

Genesis (Program #16) – Transformation for Building in the Flow of Life (1)

It’s amazing to me how God’s purpose and ultimate plan are so clearly visible in Genesis once we’ve been given the key.  And that is precisely what Witness Lee is doing it seems, in every one of these classic messages.

2 Peter (Program #3) – The Divine Provision (3)

In a very real sense the first few verses of second Peter encapsulate much of how God will accomplished His eternal plan or economy. Beginning with the gift of faith, we have God’s righteousness, the righteousness of Christ, grace and peace being multiplied in the full knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Then the divine power operating in the believers in conjunction with their co-operation leading to their escape from lust. Then God’s own glory and virtues and our being called through them and to them. Further we have God’s precious and exceedingly great promises, all of which lead us to become partakers of His divine nature resulting ultimately in our transformation in full salvation. What a tremendous beginning to this short but thoroughly crucial portion of the holy word.

1 Peter (Program #14) -Growth in Life and Its Results (4)

The Bible in both the Old Testament and New tells us that man was formed of the dust of the ground and even as living creatures, we all are but clay in the hands of God. Yet the apostle Peter in his epistles boldly declares that we have become living stones useful in building up God’s house.  Chapter 2:5 of his first epistle says “You yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”  I think we can all easily relate to being lumps of clay but it may be more difficult for us to relate to being living stones, useful for God’s building and precious.   How is it that such a transformation from clay to precious stone is possible?  Peter in both his words and by example of his own spiritual progress gives us a marvelous pattern.

1 & 2 Samuel (Program #25) – God’s Building Himself in Christ into our Being Through the Metabolic Process of Transformation

Most believers and readers of the Bible recognize that prophecy is an important component of scripture. There are great books of the Bible that have long been recognized as being important from a prophetic perspective. Books like Revelation in the New Testament and Ezekiel and Daniel in the Old Testament. But normally, we don’t think of the history books in the Old Testament as being important for prophecy. And while this may be generally true, there are notable exceptions such as 2 Samuel 7. Listen to 3 verses from this chapter and see if you can find the prophecy that Witness Lee considered one of the highest in all of scripture.

“When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your seed after you, which will come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. It is he who will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he will be My son.”

Ephesians (Program #74) -The Spirit and the Church

One of the major changes that takes place in the life of a Christian is in their mind.  As unbelievers we were as Paul described in Ephesians 4, darkened in our understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance which was in us and because of the hardness of our heart.

Contrast that to the conditions of the believers that follow in Chapter 5, For you were once darkness but are now light in the Lord, walk as children of light for the fruits of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.  How does this transformation in our minds take place?  The answer to this crucial matter is also found in Ephesians.
