3 John (Program #1) – Hospitality to the Traveling Workers

Did you know that Bible wants you to prosper in material things and being in good physical health even as your soul prospers?  2 John 2 says, ‘Beloved, concerning all things I wish that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”  We can all relate to prosperity and material things and good physical health which are important.  But how many of us understand what the apostle John meant when he talked about our soul prospering?

My inward parts that long for God are consumed within me.” This famous verse from Job will be the subject of the life-study of Job today.

2 John (Program #2) – Not Participating in Heresy

The New Testament is very strong in the matter of not receiving one who denies the person of Christ.  Even the second epistle of John is an epistle about loving one another here the apostle John prohibits us from sharing in heresy.  2 John 7 says, “For many deceivers went out into the world, those who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.”  We should not have any contact with heretics or false prophets.

Job (Program #8) – God’s Answer to Job

Job 10:13 says, “But You have hidden these things in Your heart; I know that this is with You:”. Job knew there must be a reason why God was allowing him to suffer so much but he didn’t know what God’s purpose was. Job was frustrated but we don’t have to be – God has shown us the answer.

2 John (Program #1) – The Walk in Truth and Love

The apostle John in his gospel and first epistle inoculated the believers with the mending ministry concerning the person of Christ against the heresies regarding Christ’s deity and humanity.  Because of such an inoculating truth, we see in 2 and 3 John that he and all those who had known this truth love those who were faithful to this truth.

Job (Program #7) – The First of the Three Rounds (3) and (4)

In Job’s unyielding vindication under his extreme sufferings, he said in Job 10:1-2, “My soul loathes my own life; I will let my complaint have free course in me; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. I will say to God, Do not account me wicked; Make known to me why You contend with me.”

1 John (Program #36) – The Virtues of the Divine Birth to Overcome the World, Death, Sin, the Devil, and the Idols (4)

The marvelous book of 1 John stresses the divine birth, the divine life and the fellowship all believers can experience and enjoy in the flow of this divine life.  It is not a book of great doctrine but rather it is a book as is John’s gospel  revealing the living and true God subjectively and experientially to mankind.

Finally in its concluding verses it tells us that above all we now possess the capacity to know Him not just know about Him.

Job (Program #6) – The First of the Three Rounds (2) – Job’s Vindication

God put the book of Job into the Bible as a black background. The speaking of Job and his friends indicated that although they were apparently godly men, they were short of God and they did not express God. Job and his friends came together to debate not to fellowship.

1 John (Program #35) – The Virtues of the Divine Birth to Overcome the World, Death, Sin, the Devil, and the Idols (3)

The final few verses of 1 John serve as a strong conclusion to a book that stress over and over, the divine birth and the divine life that all believers received at divine birth.  Closely associated with the divine birth are the divine fellowship and the divine anointing and all of the virtues that flow out of the divine birth.  Of course, the source of the divine life is the divine being, God Himself and His Son Jesus Christ.  And part of the heritage that we received at the divine birth is the capacity to know, experience, enjoy and ultimately even to possess God,  not merely in an objective way but in reality.
