1 Corinthians (Program #7) – Christ Crucified, God’s Power and God’s Wisdom (2)

When you consider the power of God, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?   Well, this is a hard question because one can rightful name so many things. Creation, certainly creation of all the things including the universe, all the creatures even man himself may be at the top of a lot of these lists. Others might say God miraculous power and certainly God does has the power to accomplish miracles.

But I wonder how many of us would give the answer that the Bible gives?  Because when the Bible speaks of the power of God as it does in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 it mentions none of these things. Listen

1: 23 “But we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness, But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

Luke (Program #53) – The Man-Savior’s God-man Living (1 & 2)

Here is an interesting point to ponder; in creating the entire universe, God took only six days, resting on the seventh. Yet when it came time to redeem and save man, He spent thirty-three and a half years, living a genuine human life before going to the cross.

Why would all that time needed for redemption and salvation? Could He just  miraculously appeared as a man and died the next day or next month to accomplish our redemption?   Well, the salvation that this Ones came to accomplish was more than just as a sacrifice to save us from our sins. This One had to live the life of the first God-Man in order to save us, not just to the heaven, but as the Bible says, save us to the uttermost.

Genesis (Program #13) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (8) – Ultimate Consummation

In our last broadcast, Witness Lee pointed out that in Genesis 1:31, on the sixth day God’s response to the creation of man was “very good”.  In today’s message, we began with Genesis 2 verses 2 & 3.  We know that God rested on the seventh day because his work was finished.  But the question I want to ask is did the creation of man also have an impact on God’s resting on the seventh day?

Genesis (Program #12) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (7) – Ultimate Consummation

The whole Bible is a record of two seeds in Genesis 1; image and dominion.  The last example in the Book of Revelations which is the New Jerusalem.  How we can see God’s image and dominion in the New Jerusalem?

Genesis (Program #11) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (6) – Ultimate Consummation

Our last program centered on Genesis 1:26 and two words were introduced and that we are going to come back to today; image and dominion.

This verse is so meaningful it may rightly be called one of the most important verses in the entire Scriptures, especially in the Old Testament. In this verse, we have a two-fold revelation of why we human beings were created by God. First we were created in God’s image to express Him. Second, we were given God’s authority, in deputy form to exercise dominion over His enemy that there will be a peaceful situation on the earth for the God of glory to express Himself. These are some of the riches embodied and implied in this marvelous verse, Genesis 1:26.

Genesis (Program #10) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (5) – Purpose

In our last broadcast Witness Lee discussed Genesis 1:26 concerning the creation of man, especially concerning how man is the center of God’s creation.

In God ‘s creation man is the center and the human life is the highest among all the created life….  when it came to creating man, it wasn’t just let it be, “Let there be man”.  No.  He didn’t say let there be man but He said “Let Us” make man.  A plural noun is used here.  Let us, One God but us…

Genesis (Program #5) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (2) – Process

We’ve just had two monumental messages from Witness Lee on just the first two verses in Genesis.  I think we saw something that for many of our listeners was may be quite new about creation and the biblical account.

Genesis (Program #4) – God’s Restoration and Further Creation (1) – Process

We saw in our last program, that there is absolutely no conflict between Scripture and science when it comes to creation.  Today we want to come back to this amazing view of creation in Genesis that offers a scriptural reconcilliation of the scientific view of the age of the earth and what the Bible actually teaches.  But to fully understand this interpretation we need to see not only God’s creation in this passage, we also need to see Satan’s rebellion.

Mark (Program #44) – The Resurrection and Ascension of the Slave-Savior and His Universal Spreading of the Gospel Through His Disciples

Chapter 16, the final chapter of Mark’s gospel presents three tremendous events in the ministry of Jesus Christ.  First it reveals His resurrection then His ascension for His exaltation and finally the spreading of His gospel to all the creation. All of these matters are important to genuine believers as they relate to the truth of the divine revelation. But they also should be very real aspects of our experience of the marvelous salvation that we have received. But that leads us to a very important question, How can we experience Christ in the reality of His resurrection and how can we experience the exalted and ascended Christ?  Well, this chapter gives us some very helpful signs from some of the Lord’s followers who were living in the reality of Christ in His crucifixion and therefore we are also able to experience Him in His resurrection.
