We have our first program today dealing with John the Baptist.  This is the one I think nearly everyone has heard of.  But probably there is not that much understood about him and his ministry.

Isaiah 40:31presents believes and followers of Christ with the tremendous promise, “Yet those who wait on Jehovah will renew their strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles; They will run and will not faint; They will walk and will not become weary.”  We all cherish this kind of encouraging word.  But the question is “what is it to wait on the Lord in such a way as to be brought into this kind of rich experience of Christ?”  Don’t miss the Lord’s fresh speaking on today’s life study of the Bible.

Matthew chapter two re-accounts the well known story of how the wise men came with their gifts and found the baby, Lord Jesus.  There is much more to the story than what we may commonly be familiar with.  Our goal today on this program is to see how we all can find Christ by the living star.

The first chapter of Matthew is a chapter of names.  There are 17 verses of names, the genealogy of Jesus Christ.  The chapter ends, however with two particular names, Jesus and Emmanuel.

Isaiah (Program #15) – An Example of Seeking after Jehovah and Trusting in Him

For the first 35 chapters of his book of poetry and prophecy, Isaiah focused on the nation of Israel and God’s dealing with them.  But then four entire chapters are devoted to the story of Hezekiah, King of Israel.  These chapters provide a striking portrait of a godly man, what most of us would love to emulate.  But if we look closely we will see signs in this man reveal a person occupied more with self than with God’s own interests.  Are we such a person?  Stay with us today and we may see much of our own life in the story of Hezekiah on today’s life study of the Bible.
