In today’s program, we like to see something from the whole Bible. The Bible is a book of two things. Many of you would say Christ and the Church. The two things are not Christ and the Church, but life and building. Christ is life and the Church is building. If you don’t realize that Christ is life and the Church is building, when you say Christ and the Church, it is just a kind of doctrine. When we say Christ, we mean life. When we say the Church, we mean building. What is Christ? Christ is our life. What is the Church?  The Church is God’s building.

Luke (Program #1) – Introduction, Subject and Contents of the Gospel (1)

The New Testament begins with four different accounts of the life of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Matthew is profound presenting us with Christ as the king in His kingdom; John is mysterious, showing us Christ as the very God; but Luke though not as profound or as mysterious is altogether sweet and pleasant because Luke unveils Jesus Christ as a man. A man who is both sweet and pleasant because His living displays and expresses the very nature and essence of God lived out in His perfect humanity. This is not just a man but the Man-Saviour.

Ezekiel (Program #24) – The River Flowing from the House

An outstanding feature that appears again and again throughout the pages of the Bible both in the Old Testament and the New is a river. The river was prominent in Genesis and the river appears in the books of history and the books of the prophets in the Old Testament. This river is still flowing in the gospels especially in the Gospel of John where the river flows out of the pierced side of the Lord Jesus. And it continues to flow right through the final chapters of Revelation where it is seen proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the New Jerusalem. In all of these mentions the river is a very positive factor, very much related to the matter of the divine eternal life. One of the more striking appearances that this river makes is in Ezekiel 47 where it’s seen flowing out of the house of God. In this chapter it becomes a deep river – too deep and too wide to be passed over. The one that we have no choice but to abandon ourselves to and swim in.

Ezekiel (Program #1) – Introduction (1)

One book in the Bible that always seem to stir interest is the book of Revelation. This book gives the account of the apostle John receiving the revelation from God. This revelation actually came as John saw vision after vision, prophetically revealing the key elements of God’s eternal plan. But if one is really to understand the book of Revelation, it is equally important to know the parallel Old Testament book, the book of Ezekiel. Ezekiel and Revelation go together in many critical aspects as you’ll see in the coming weeks.

Song of Songs (Program #9) – Sharing in the Work of the Lord

There are many ways to study the Bible. We may study it from a historical perspective or from a theological doctrinal perspective or we may study it as a book of moral precepts or as a pattern for our living. Surely the Bible is a book of truth but preeminently, the Bible is also a book of life. “I have come that you might have life”, the Lord Jesus said in John. And also in John He said, “The words that I speak are spirit and are life”.

1 John (Program #31) – The Virtues of the Divine Birth to Practice the Divine Love (4)

In his first epistle the apostle John talks very much about love.  Chapter four particularly places a strong emphasis on love. But if we examine John’s presentation of this most visible virtue of the divine birth we realize that the love spoken of in this book is not a vague or general love nor is it a natural love, a love that finds its’ source in the human heart. It is the love that flows from the divine source from God Himself.  In verse 8 of chapter 4 John puts it this way, “He who does not love has not known God, because God is love.“

The apostle John gave us a long word in His first epistle about loving the brothers but right in the middle of his fellowship about love he inserts six verses in chapter four that start out,  “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits whether they are of God,..”

An enlightening program today that makes the connection between loving the brothers and proving the spirits.

1 John (Program #23) – The Virtues of the Divine Birth to Practice the Divine Righteousness (1)

The book of 1 John though short in length is anything but short in its’ spiritual content.  This short epistle conveys some of the richest and deepest thought in all of the New Testament. Even its’ sequence is marvelous. Beginning with the divine life and the fellowship of the life which is our participation in God’s life. It then moves on to the teaching of the anointing. Which as we had already seen and is crucial to the experience and growth of every believer. Finally it come to the last main section that of the virtues of the divine life that we possess by the divine birth. And it is here that we see the progression brought to its’ consummation. That the children of God become His eternal expression and counterpart. All in this short book of 1 John.

1 John (Program #22) – The Anointing and the Antichrists

In this age when so many people are talking about events related to the end times as prophesied in the Bible. You hear a lot of talk and speculation concerning this infamous personality that will play a major part in those events.

Christians and even interested believers commonly used the name Antichrist to identify this one. Actually though this term is Biblical it can only be found in two books out of the sixty-six in the Bible. And those two are 1 and 2 John. But it’s interesting to examine how John uses this title. It may surprise you to hear that there had been many Antichrists that had already been come and gone. Yes, there is one coming whom the Bible speaks of at the end times. But for our need today we should be very clear about the real meaning of the term Antichrist.
